Finca Tasta is a farm located in the Challhuamayo community of the Laylla District, Satipo Province, Junín Region of Peru. The farm is owned and operated by two young siblings and second generation coffee producers, Edith & Ivan Meza Sagarvinaga. The 56 acre estate has 19 acres cultivated with coffee and 22 acres left for natural forest preservation. In addition to coffee, the farm also produces various fruits and vegetables that are sold at organic shops in Lima. These days, Edith spearheads operations at the farm, and Ivan focuses on relationships with local coffee buyers that serve their coffee.
In the years we’ve worked with Finca Tasta, we’ve featured a differently processed coffee every year to highlight their efforts in post-harvest processing and experimentation. This time, we’re bringing back a refreshing washed coffee that has a citric acidity like pineapples, a juicy body reminiscent of valencia oranges, and has a lingering sweetness akin to panela. This coffee is bright and balanced, making it really easy to drink served black.
Our goal is to send you the freshest coffee possible. Sometimes, this means that we will take a day or two to process orders. Orders placed on Saturdays and Sundays will be roasted on Monday and shipped on Tuesday. Weekday orders usually ship next-day. Bags are 8 oz.
Please allow an extra business day for orders that include ground coffee.
**Please note that freshness is guaranteed for 60 days for whole bean coffee, and 30 days for ground coffee.
